Firefly Image Model 5
Firefly Image Model 5 generates images and edits supplied images through natural-language instructions. Adobe introduced it in public beta in October 2025 with native 4 MP generation, then announced general availability in March 2026.
Reference images change the requested operation
Adobe’s feature guide describes an empty referenceBlobs list as text-to-image generation. Supplying reference images selects instruct editing. It also describes speed and quality prompt-reasoning modes, with generated alt text in quality mode. Migration needs more than a model-name change
Practical guidance. Adobe warns that Image5 uses an incompatible request schema. Its migration prose and feature examples also differ on some field names. Use the published endpoint schema for the integration you deploy, and check actual validation errors.
