Firefly Image Model 3

Firefly Image 3 launched in beta on 23 April 2024 in Photoshop and the Firefly web application. Adobe emphasized image detail, prompt understanding and creative controls. Current access must be checked by operation: generating a new image and filling a selected region have different retirement histories.

The removal applied to particular editing workflows

Adobe removed Image 3 from the Fill and Expand model picker with Photoshop 27.6 in April 2026, then scheduled those services for removal from older versions in August. The same notice says Generate Image remains available. This is why a single retired label for the whole model would be misleading.Adobe’s Image 3 Fill and Expand retirement notice
