Gen-4 Aleph
Gen-4 Aleph is Runway’s earlier video-editing and stylization model. The Academy’s product table still lists it, but the Dev API no longer accepts its old identifier. Product and API status must therefore be read separately.

An old product name is not an active API route
The dated API retirement notice takes priority for developers using Runway Dev. A model remaining in a creative-product table does not make its API identifier valid. Practical guidance. Use the same source clip and intended edit when comparing Aleph versions. Review the selected keyframe and the completed clip separately. Preserve the project’s requirements for duration, resolution and shot continuity when updating the workflow.
