Camera movement became a learned control

In March 2025, Luma introduced Camera Motion Concepts for Ray2. These controls were trained from examples and could be combined to direct camera movement. This was a different form of control from describing the entire scene in an unrestricted prompt.Camera Motion Concepts for Ray2

Use current controls for new integrations

The migration guide maps Ray2 generation to Ray3.2 and moves duration, resolution and loop settings into the video request. Ray2 Relaxed is also listed as a legacy workflow, without a separate replacement model in the new API.Legacy Ray migration guide

Practical guidance. For a repeatable camera move, retain the original scene description and reference assets when comparing generations. Recheck motion and subject continuity before replacing a working shot. A successor model can interpret the same prompt differently.
