From Devin to an editor and agent platform

Cognition introduced Devin in March 2024. In July 2025, it agreed to acquire Windsurf. Its July 2026 anniversary account describes the combined team. Devin Desktop became the next generation of Windsurf in June 2026.

Funding and company growth

In September 2026, Cognition announced more than $2 billion in funding at a $48 billion valuation. Andreessen Horowitz and Accel led the round. The company later reported $1 billion in annualized revenue run rate; this is not a statement of revenue earned during a full year.

Catalog coverage

This profile covers the current SWE models named in Devin documentation and the public Kevin-32B research weights. Reasoning levels and Fast service options stay on the parent model page. Devin, Fusion and Adaptive are product features, not separate base-model releases.
