Founding and public listing
Jeff Bezos founded Amazon in 1994. The company went public on 15 May 1997, and its shares trade on Nasdaq as AMZN. Andy Jassy joined Amazon in 1997, founded and led AWS, and served as AWS CEO until July 2021 before leading Amazon.
Amazon and its cloud business
Amazon identifies its first headquarters with the Puget Sound region, including Seattle and Bellevue, and its second with Arlington, Virginia. Matt Garman has led AWS since June 2024. AWS is the business through which developers access Nova and Titan; the Amazon company profile and the AWS model service describe different levels of the same organization.
Check the model's actual lifecycle status
AWS model cards retain entries for some retired models. Nova Canvas and Nova Reel reached end of life on 30 September 2026. Their presence in a catalog or old guide does not mean new requests will work. An earliest possible retirement date is also not an actual retirement notice.
Coverage and exclusions
Practical guidance. This selection covers reviewed Nova text and speech models, Nova Multimodal Embeddings, three established Titan embedding models, and two retired Nova media models. It does not enumerate all historical Titan generators, every regional model identifier, custom Nova Forge models or announced releases absent from the current reviewed catalog. Nova Act and other agent services are not presented as general chat model endpoints.
