Step1X-Edit 1.1 adds text-to-image generation to the editing line. The 9 July 2025 release also changes editing quality and instruction following.

Evaluate both modes independently
Practical guidance. A good editing result does not establish the quality of generation from a blank start. Keep separate prompts for preserving an input image and creating a new composition.
