SpeechmaticsBilingual recognition

Arabic–English Bilingual

The Arabic–English model became available in Realtime in February 2026. General and medical models were included in the same release.

Dialect coverage and language changes

The release describes Gulf, Egyptian and Levantine speech as well as Modern Standard Arabic. Batch and Realtime use the same model. The medical variant adds clinical vocabulary rather than replacing the general bilingual release.Speechmatics: Arabic–English general and medical model launch

Speechmatics’ development account explains why running separate Arabic and English recognizers cannot fully address switches inside a phrase. The bilingual training includes real dialect variation and mixed speech.Speechmatics: Arabic dialects and bilingual clinical training

Practical guidance. Use regional speech in evaluation. Formal broadcast Arabic alone will not reveal how the model handles a customer who mixes dialect, English terminology and spoken numbers.Speechmatics: Arabic dialects and bilingual clinical training
