Devstral Medium 1.0 is the larger proprietary release in Mistral’s July 2025 coding-agent update. It was developed with All Hands AI for software tasks that require a sequence of tool calls.

The model record lists function calling, structured output and document question answering with 128K context. Its intended workflow includes reading a codebase, selecting files and making related edits. Commercial deployment differs from Small
The launch offered Medium through an API and discussed private deployment and custom fine-tuning for enterprise customers. It did not publish an Apache-licensed Medium checkpoint.
