North Micro Vision Instruct
North Micro Vision Instruct is a 2.4-billion-parameter model with Apache 2.0 weights. It accepts interleaved text and images and produces text for visual questions, OCR, charts and document tasks.
Capabilities and limits
The model supports native-resolution image processing, multiple images and several languages. Its language backbone has a 128K window, but multimodal training used 8K and longer image-text contexts were not benchmarked. The release is positioned for prototyping and specialized adaptation.North Micro Vision Instruct model card
When this model fits
Practical guidance. This checkpoint is a useful candidate for a narrow visual task that needs local control or model adaptation. Review the original images at the resolution the application will supply. Keep layout-sensitive cases in the comparison, such as a label beside a measurement or a value inside a table. Do not use the backbone's larger context claim to assume reliable performance on a long sequence of document pages.
