ALIA 40B Instruct 2601
ALIA 40B Instruct 2601 is a long-context conversational release from BSC's 40B language model family.
Model and training
This update includes instruction tuning and safety alignment. BSC describes improvements in following requests, handling noisy input and using longer contexts compared with its preceding instruction release. The model keeps a 48-layer decoder and a 256,000-token vocabulary. Its GGUF distribution is a conversion of these weights.ALIA 40B Instruct 2601: official model card
Practical use
Practical guidance. This release provides a dated baseline for evaluating later ALIA instruction models. Include malformed input and documents with distracting material in the comparison. Record the exact checkpoint and chat template, because using only the ALIA family name would hide meaningful differences between the 2601, 2605 and 2606 releases.
