ALIA 40B FC 2605
ALIA 40B FC 2605 is BSC's non-thinking 40B function-calling model. It is a trained adaptation rather than a tool API wrapper.
Model and training
The model combines a context-extended ALIA base with supervised tool-use instruction training. Its function-calling examples primarily use English. The card states that this release has not undergone safety and value alignment. It predates the explicit reasoning behaviour introduced in FC 2606.ALIA 40B FC 2605: official model card
Practical use
Practical guidance. Evaluate whether it selects the correct tool, supplies valid arguments and stops when information is missing. The application must execute the returned calls and supply results. A successful JSON parse alone is not enough: inspect whether the requested action follows the user's task and available evidence.
